3700 Lee Blvd, Lehigh Acres, FL 33971Heading through Lehigh Acres, you've probably seen this little park, but you've probably never stopped. Do you need a few minutes to decompress after work, or a quiet place to eat lunch? Check out this little park. It has a short boardwalk and peaceful marsh grasses and flowers. It doesn't have a lot of amenities, but it's worth stopping by every now and then.
My daughters love to run the boardwalk, and it really doesn't take long to look, get a breath of fresh air, and then get back in your car. It's usually empty, or there might be 1-2 other cars. 9370 Dynasty Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33905I've always liked trampolines, as have my kids, but this was the first time we'd ever been at an indoor Trampoline Park! I'm definitely going back, with or without my kids! Haha! I'll take them. They loved it.
It seems like a lot of money for an hour at first, but if you have younger kids, they have deals for parents to go with them. They even have 2 and under time so you don't have to worry about your little ones getting squished or stepped on. And as for that hour, most people will be tired after an hour of constant climbing and jumping. I play basketball every week, and this had me using muscles I don't normally use for that. You can also pay for 1.5 or 2 hours if you want. The socks are $3, but you can reuse them until they wear out. They're tight at first, but give you great grip on all surfaces. What do you get here?
11901 Rod and Gun Club Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33913Can't get enough nature and fresh air? Check out the Wild Turkey Strand Preserve! With some military history and lots of trails, you can explore the 3000+ acres of nature preserves south of Lehigh Acres in the Fort Myers area.
It's a great area to find wildflowers, check out local birds, and possibly even see some wildlife! Bring some water and some hiking boots. A good portion of the trail is paved or boardwalk, but around half of it may be marshy or even under water during the wet parts of the year. Winter and early spring might be your best times to visit, but you can do the solid trail parts all year! Get walking! 38th St W, Fort Myers, FL 33905Ready for some more nature? Ready to get away from the crowds?
Hit this early on a weekend and you might see a car or two, maybe someone walking a dog, but the rest of the 500 acres you'll just have to share with the birds and fish! It's pretty much in Lehigh near Buckingham, despite the Fort Myers address. Harns Marsh Preserve is a natural wetland and active stormwater facility, where rainwater and heavy rains can be shifted to filter and drain through. It's home to hundreds of types of creatures, from bugs, to birds, to fish and reptiles! This is a fun place for:
