It also has a lot of items of historical importance, from the presidents, to civil rights, to the founding fathers! This is a Five Minute Field Trip you won't want to miss! To get to Mackinac Island, Michigan, you need to take a ferry ride. Check for coupons and deals, and buy tickets online to save! Once you're there, you can do a LOT of walking and hiking, or look into horse taxis, horse carriage tours, rental bikes, and a lot of options to get around. When you're there:

Check out Da Yoopers Tourist Trap in Ishpeming, Michigan! While it is a FREE visit with lots of cool stuff to look at, bring your wallet, because they have a lot of fun, cute, or outrageous gifts in the shop! This has been a trip I've been making since I was a child, and it's great to share this with my own kids now! 41382 W M-123, Paradise, MI 49768Check out one of the largest waterfalls East of the Mississippi River in Michigan's Upper Peninsula! At 200 feet wide, this frothy, foaming waterfall is super fun to visit! It's also a very easy hike from the Upper Falls park entrance. Feeling like a bit more of a hike? Park at the Lower Falls and hike up to the Upper Falls!
With campgrounds, a pub/brewery restaurant, facilities, and gift shops, this is an excellent place to spend a weekend. Imagine the Fall colors, too! This is one of my favorite places in Michigan. Peter White Dr, Marquette, MI 49855Lake Superior has a lot of scenic views, but some of the best ones require you to get on boats or kayaks. This one matches a lot of those views, but you can do a lot of it from a car! Also, it's FREE!
So check out Presque Isle Park in Marquette, Michigan! There are scenic overlooks, places to swim, ore docks, cliff divers, rocky beaches, and some amazing scenery! This one is a definite is you're in northern Michigan! 73 Forge Rd, Negaunee, MI 49866Like history, industry, or mining? This is the place for you! Check out the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee, Michigan. It's not far from Marquette, so it's a great and FREE thing for you and the kids to do during a day trip out in the Upper Peninsula.

This is the Five Minute Field Trip for you! Greenfield Village is a collection of dozens of classic buildings, all arranged like a farm and small town. Munch on old-fashioned sweets and treats as horses stroll by, fancy old bikes roll by, and Model T cars rumble past you. Then, hitch a train ride around the whole village! It has gift shops, snack stops, demonstrations, rides, and playgrounds! It's a hit for the whole family, plus it's pretty AND educational. Check this one out in Dearborn, Michigan! 25 Christmas Ln, Frankenmuth, MI 48734Love Christmas? This is definitely the place to go! It's the World's Largest Christmas Store! It's not far from I-75 in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and it's a great place to lose a few hours.
It's free to get in, and there are several acres of landscaped grounds and a store the size of several football fields. Inside, you'll find a dizzying display of Santas, moving displays, snowmen, lights, trees, and thousands of ornaments! Don't forget that Frankenmuth has cheese shops, fudge shops, and great restaurants, too! Definitely make this a day trip! |
