It's a hidden treasure right off the Caloosahatchee in the Fort Myers area. It's almost an immediate exit off the bridge in Cape Coral. It's free to visit, although you might need to pay that $2 bridge toll, depending on which way you come in. It has a finished boardwalk trail for most of its length, with two piers or docks to look out from. It's a great area to find wildflowers, check out local birds, and possibly even see some wildlife! Bring some water and some hiking boots. A good portion of the trail is paved or boardwalk, but around half of it may be marshy or even under water during the wet parts of the year. Hit this early on a weekend and you might see a car or two, maybe someone walking a dog, but the rest of the 500 acres you'll just have to share with the birds and fish! It's pretty much in Lehigh near Buckingham, despite the Fort Myers address. Harns Marsh Preserve is a natural wetland and active stormwater facility, where rainwater and heavy rains can be shifted to filter and drain through.
